8. PP/PS Blending Modification

Formula

Resin PP100; PS10; compatibility agent SBS10; lubricant HSt0.4;

Processing technology

The components are weighed by the proportion of the formula, mixed evenly in the high speed mixer, and then melted together in the extruder for granulation. Extrusion temperature 170-230 ℃.

Performance

Yield strength 2MPa; rupture elongation rate 7%; elastic modulus 1432MPa; impact strength 27kj/m2.

PP and PS are incompatible system, but the addition of SBS, reducing the size of dispersed phase, prompting the system to disperse evenly, so as to play a toughening and compatible role.


9. PP/HIPS Blending Modification

Formula

Resin PP51.8; nucleating agent sodium phosphate 0.1; HIPS18; dicycloheptane dicarboxylate 0.1; filling agent talc 30;

Processing technology

The components are weighed according to the proportion of the formula, mixed evenly in the high speed mixer, and then melted together in the twin screw extruder for granulation. Extrusion temperature 190-210 ℃, screw D/L ≥32.

Performance

The automobile parts produced by this material has low linear expansion coefficient and good homogeneous, so its dimension is stable, its assembling clearance is small, and the automobile can be used in different temperature.


10. PP/PA66 Blending Modification

Formula

Resin PP100; compatibility agent Pp-g-mah10; PA66 20; assistant 0.2;

Processing technology

Mixing PP, PA and auxiliaries in a high speed mixer, then granulation in twin screw extruder. Mixing temperature 80-100 ℃ for 10min, extrusion temperature 200-245 ℃, screw speed 60-120r/min

Performance

Blending PP with PA66, the notch impact strength of the blend material was increased at room temperature and at low temperature; after mixing with 10%pp-g-mah, the notch impact strength of the blends reached 108.9j/m2; tensile strength 38.8MPa; elastic modulus 1710Mpa; breaking elongation rate 37%.


11. PP/PET Blending Modification

Formula

Resin PP 100; nucleating agent 0.1; PET 15; compatibility agent Pp-g-aa5;

Processing technology

The components are weighed by the proportion of the formula, mixed evenly in the high speed mixer, and then melted together in the extruder for granulation. The extruder L/D is 25:1, the barrel temperature is 200-230 ℃, and the screw speed is 60-100r/min.

Performance

Tensile strength 34.2MPa, bending strength 63.1MPa. Blending PET with PP can not only improve PET's disadvantage, but also improve the impact strength and mechanical properties of PP. However, PET is polar Polymer, PP is non-polar polymer, the two has poor compatibility. The compatibility of the two resins can be improved obviously by adding pp-aa5.


12. PP/PBT Blending Modification

Formula

Resin PP 100; PBT 20 lubricant EBS0.5; compatibility agent E/EA/GMA5;

Processing technology

The components are weighed by the proportion of the formula, mixed evenly in the high speed mixer, and then melted together in the extruder for granulation. The extruder L/d≥20: 1,  barrel temperature 190~230℃, screw speed 100~160r/min.

Performance

Tensile strength 37.2MP; bending strength 76. 5MPa; impact strength 10kj/m2. PBT is a polar polymer, and PP is non-polar polymer, so the two is incompatible. Using E/EA/GMA compatibility agent, can improve their interface adhesion, playing a good compatibility role.


13. PP/SBS Blending Modification

Formula

Resin PP 100; toughening agent SBS 20; antioxidant 1520-d0.4; lubricant EBS0.2;

Processing technology

The components are weighed by the proportion of the formula, mixed evenly in the high speed mixer, and then melted together in the extruder for granulation. The length-diameter ratio of the extruder is 25:1; The extrusion temperature is 155-215 ℃ and the screw speed is 100~160r/min.

Performance

With the increase of SBS addition, the impact strength and elongation of the blended materials gradually increased, and the tensile strength, bending strength, modulus and hardness decreased.


14. PP/SBR Blending Modification

Formula

Resin PP 60; crosslinking agent BP03; toughening agent powder styrene-butadiene Rubber (SBR) 14, lubricant stearic acid 0.8, antioxidant 1680.2, filler nanometer calcium carbonate 20; Beta nucleating Agent 2

Processing technology

The PP, SBR and filler are weighed by the proportion of the formula, mixed evenly in the high speed mixer;  the nucleating agent, the crosslinking agent, the antioxidant and lubricant are weighed by the proportion of the formula, mixing and stirring evenly, then mixing the two kinds of mixture into the high speed mixer, and put them into the twin-screw extruder, through cooling trough and pelletizer for granulation. Barrel temperature: the first area 195 ℃, the second 200 ℃, the third 205 ℃, four the fourth 200 ℃, the fifth 195 ℃; screw rotating speed 300r/min.

Performance

Tensile strength: 8MPa; breaking elongation rate 12.3%, bending strength 34.2MPa; notched impact strength 15.4kj/m2.
