The twin screw extruder has a wide range of applications, and can process and produce a variety of products. We need to choose different auxiliary machines to adapt or improve the material characteristics, and make products perfect. 

The products that can be made are roughly divided into plastic raw materials, sheets, pipes, cast films and other plastic products. Today we will take granulation as an example to briefly introduce the auxiliary machine required when granulating with twin screw extruders!

 

1.Water strand pelletizing line

Pelletizing appearance: the pellet is cylindrical, the end face is neat, and the pellet size and length during production can be easily adjusted.

Scope of application: suitable for most plastic granulation, mainly used for plastic filling modification, reinforced plastics, color masterbatch, engineering plastic alloy, special masterbatch and other plastic pelletizing process, is a most widely used process, with convenient operation, easy maintenance and other advantages, but also the most economical choice.

The auxiliary equipment mainly includes: stainless steel sink, air knife (for drying), granulator, vibrating screen, silo, dryer, etc.

2.Air cooling pelletizing line with Conveyor belts

Granulation appearance: the pellet is cylindrical, the end face is neat, and the pellet size and length can be fine-tuned in production.

Scope of application: For materials with relatively high filling amount and difficult to dry after immersion in water, you can choose air cooling pelletizing line with Conveyor belts to ensure material quality.

The auxiliary machine mainly includes: air-cooled strand pulling head, air-cooled conveyor belt, pelletizer, vibrating screen, finished product silo, etc.

3.Water ring hot cutting granulation auxiliary machine

Granulation appearance: the pellets are round sheets, and the pellet diameter and thickness can be adjusted according to customer requirements.

Scope of application: For materials that are not easy to pull strip forming and easy to dry, you can choose the water ring die surface hot cutting granulation auxiliary, compared with the first two granulation methods, because it can be directly granulated on the die surface, eliminating the time of cooling on the sink and conveyor belt, and the output of this set of granulation methods is higher.

The auxiliary machine mainly includes: water ring hot cutting head, water ring cover, pelletizer, centrifugal dehydrator, centrifugal water pump, vibrating screen, finished product silo, etc.

4.Air cooling hot cutting granulation auxiliary machine

Granulation appearance: the granules are round flakes when they are just cut, due to the centrifugal force of the cyclone, the granules are mostly cashew shapes, and the diameter and thickness of the granules can be adjusted according to customer requirements.

Scope of application: For materials that are not easy to pull strip forming and not easy to dry, you can choose an air-cooled die surface hot cutting granulation auxiliary. Compared with the previous two granulation methods, because it can be directly granulated on the die surface, eliminating the time of cooling on the sink or conveyor belt, this granulation method has a higher yield.

The auxiliary machine mainly includes: air-cooled hot cutting head, wind ring cover, pelletizer, high-pressure fan, three-stage cyclone, air transmission pipeline, vibrating screen, finished product silo, etc.

5.underwater granulation auxiliary machine 

Granulation appearance: the pellets are round, uniform and beautiful, and the pellet size can be adjusted during production.

Applications: Underwater pelletizing is suitable for almost all plastics. Because of its high cost, it is generally used to make materials with high quality requirements and low hardness, such as elastomer series, especially suitable for high-yield PP granulation, elastomers, etc.

The auxiliary machine mainly includes: underwater cutting head, underwater pelletizer, water conveying pipeline, bulk material separation device, centrifugal dehydrator, vibrating screen, finished product silo, etc.

6.Other optional auxiliary devices

1.Pre mixing stage

Most materials must be pre mixed before being fed into a twin screw extruder, and the uniformity of this mixing also determines the quality of the material. The pre mixing equipment includes a high mixing machine, a high and low mixing unit, a color mixing machine, and a negative pressure dust-free pre mixing feeding unit, which effectively solves various defects such as high dust and pollution in the workshop and failure to meet environmental standards.

2.Loading stage

After the materials are mixed, you can choose the vacuum feeder, and the screw feeder will send the materials into the twin screw extruder to feed the hopper, saving manpower and high-intensity labor.

3. Side feeder

For some materials, such as short glass fibers, additives, etc., you can choose a side feeder.

4. Drying stage

For materials with high drying requirements, you can choose dryers, boiling beds and other auxiliary machines. 

5. Packaging stage

Automatic, semi-automatic weighing and packaging system, a variety of sizes available, 25 kg/bag, 50 kg/bag or other sizes can be set.
